On 18–19 May 2026, Varna, Bulgaria, will host the Launch Conference and the 1st Steering Committee Meeting of the TIMMOD-NEXT project – Enhancing Innovation Capacities and Uptake of Advanced Technologies towards Sustainable Fisheries and Eco-Friendly Aquaculture in the Black Sea, funded under the Interreg VI-B NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme 2021–2027.
The event will be hosted by the Black Sea – Danube Association for Research and Development (BDCA), while the Institute of Fish Resources – Varna is the Lead Partner of the project.

On 18–19 May 2026, Varna, Bulgaria, will host the Launch Conference and the 1st Steering Committee Meeting of the TIMMOD-NEXT project – Enhancing Innovation Capacities and Uptake of Advanced Technologies towards Sustainable Fisheries and Eco-Friendly Aquaculture in the Black Sea, funded under the Interreg VI-B NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme 2021–2027.
The event will be hosted by the Black Sea – Danube Association for Research and Development (BDCA), while the Institute of Fish Resources – Varna is the Lead Partner of the project.
The conference will bring together representatives of the partner organisations from Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Georgia, and Türkiye, marking the official launch of the project's implementation. During the meeting, participants will present the project objectives, planned activities, and the first steps towards establishing the Black Sea Innovation Network of Open-Air Labs, as well as developing a digital ecosystem and a WebGIS platform to support sustainable fisheries and environmentally friendly aquaculture.
