In the beginning of May 2026, the Black Sea – Danube Association for Research and Development (BDCA) organized a public dissemination event in Dalgopol, Bulgaria, within the framework of the LocAll4Flood project, funded by the Interreg Euro-MED Programme 2021–2027.

The event brought together representatives of local authorities, stakeholders, and members of the local community to present the project's objectives and key achievements in strengthening preparedness and resilience to flash floods. Participants learned about the integrated multi-stakeholder governance model developed by the project, the Local Early Warning System, and the potential of Nature-Based Solutions for reducing flood risks.

During the event, active involvement of the local community and environmental stewardship were encouraged as important elements of flood risk prevention. In this context, the demonstration campaign “Let’s Clean the Kamchia River TOGETHER” was promoted along the Kamchia River basin—from Dalgopol to the river mouth at the Black Sea—with the aim of improving the condition of river ecosystems and raising public awareness about the importance of keeping watercourses free from waste and obstructions. By preserving healthy river environments, local communities can contribute to reducing flood risks and enhancing resilience to climate-related hazards.

The public event provided an opportunity for dialogue and exchange among stakeholders while increasing awareness of the importance of cooperation between institutions and citizens in addressing flood risks.
